About Santa Fe
- Santa Fe is the capital city of the state of New Mexico. It is the second oldest city in the U.S. behind St. Augustine Florida. Santa Fe was founded by Spanish Conquistadors in 1607, 13 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.
- Santa Fe sets in the high desert foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at about 7,000 feet above sea level. The surrounding peaks reach as high as 12,000 feet.
- The population of Santa Fe is about 60,000 (2002) friendly, hospitable people.
